The broth is simmered for 2 hours, which allows the flavors of the vegetables, chicken, and bay leaves to develop and meld together. The broth is then strained to remove any solids, resulting in a clear and aromatic broth. Once cooled, the broth can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer for later use. Enjoy this rich and comforting broth as a warm and nourishing drink or as a flavorful addition to your favorite recipes.

Recipe Note
- Use a large stockpot or Dutch oven to make the broth so that there's enough room for all the ingredients and liquid.
- Cut the vegetables into small pieces to increase the surface area and release more flavor into the broth.
- Use a whole chicken for a rich and flavorful broth. If you prefer, you can also use chicken bones or leftover chicken carcasses for a more economical option.
- Simmer the broth for 2 hours or until the chicken is cooked through. Do not boil the broth, as this will cause the chicken to become tough and the broth to become cloudy.
- Season the broth with salt and pepper to taste. Be mindful of the sodium content of the broth, as some commercial broths can be very high in sodium.
- Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any solids and ensure a clear broth.
- Store the broth in the refrigerator or freezer for later use. The broth can last up to 5 days in the refrigerator and up to 6 months in the freezer.
- Enjoy your delicious and aromatic chicken broth with bay leaf!
