The turmeric in the marinade not only adds flavor but also provides anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. The chicken can be grilled or baked, making it a versatile dish for any season. Serve it with a side of rice, vegetables, or a salad for a complete meal.
Ingredients
4 boneless chicken breasts
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
-
2 tablespoons turmeric powder
2 teaspoons cumin
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lemon, juiced
Salt and pepper, to taste
Olive oil, for brushing
Fresh cilantro or parsley, for garnish (optional)
Directions
In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt, turmeric, cumin, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Add the chicken breasts to the bowl and make sure they are coated in the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours.
Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F (200°C).
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade. Brush the chicken breasts with a little bit of olive oil.
If using the grill, place the chicken on the grates and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). If using the oven, place the chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove the chicken from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
Serve the chicken with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro or parsley, if desired.

- To add more flavor to the dish, you can add some additional spices to the marinade, such as coriander, paprika, or chili powder.
- To reduce the amount of fat in the dish, use low-fat or non-fat Greek yogurt in the marinade.
- The internal temperature of the chicken should reach 165°F (74°C) to ensure it is fully cooked and safe to eat.
- Serve the chicken with a side of rice, vegetables, or a salad for a complete meal.
- If you have leftovers, store the chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
