Turmeric Basmati Rice Recipe
Turmeric rice is the best side dish for any curry. Easy to make and delicious, it’s the perfect way to liven up a curry. This fragrant dish is easy to make with simple ingredients and gives you great results. Aromatic and fragrant basmati rice seasoned with fresh turmeric and garlic, it’s a healthy side dish everybody will love.
Drain the rice after rinsing it until the water runs clear.
Melt the butter and olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
When the butter has melted, add the onion and garlic and cook until they are softened.
Stir in the rice and turmeric. Stir until everything is well blended
Bring to a boil over high heat.
Reduce heat to low and continue to cook for 15-20 minutes, or until liquid has been absorbed. Allow to cool for 5 minutes after removing from the heat.
Take out the bay leaf and fluff with a fork before serving.
1. Instead of basmati rice, you can use any other type of rice (jasmine or brown).
2. To achieve the flavor of chicken, add chicken's broth for meat lovers.
3. For vegetarians, add mixed vegetables to make turmeric rice in the vegetarian manner.
